Steve Bailey, the founder of Bass At The Beach, has held down the groove with top artists from every style from Dizzy Gillespie, Larry Carlton, and The Rippingtons to Willie Nelson. His collaborations with Victor Wooten and Bass Extremes have thrilled and amazed audiences all over the world. Steve is a first-call bassist on both coasts, performing on electric 6-string fretless and acoustic bass. His new soloo project is nearing completion.

Victor Wooten is the bassist with the Grammy Award winning Béla Fleck & The Flecktones. Since the age of 5, Victor has been entertaining and amazing audiences around the world with his funky grooves and jaw-dropping thumb technique. He also has an intense love of the outdoors and a deep commitment to education. He has been teaching music for many years. His latest CD is "SOUL CIRCUS" on Vanguard Records.

Mike Pope

Mike Pope is a master of the 5- and 6-string electric bass which has led to live and/or recording stints with a wide array of artists, including Mike Stern, Chuck Loeb, Anton Fig, Jason Miles and Blood Sweat & Tears. He's currently touring with David Sanborn and just finished a long run with The Manhattan Transfer. His precision and poise on the upright has brought calls from Joe Locke, Jeff “Tain” Watts, Bruce Barth and David Berkman. AND.. he's an incredible piano player! Mike's knowledge of harmony in UNreal!!

Dave Welsch

Dave Welsch is the BATB Production Manager and Reading Instructor. When he's not running around campus making sure that everyone (mainly Steve, Victor, Mike and Gregg) is where they're supposed to be... he's...well... doing production-type stuff. His reading class runs every night of the camp...AFTER the evening concert!
